A Gold Nugget Gift Handover Pack: What to Give With the Specimen

Giving a nugget is easier for the recipient when its information arrives with it. A small handover pack can explain which specimen they own, where its records are stored and which statements came from the seller. This guide focuses on that pack rather than choosing a nugget for a particular occasion.

Start with an identity card

Give the delivered nugget a simple reference such as GIFT-001. Photograph it and put the same reference on the photograph filename and a separate card. Do not attach labels or glue to the specimen itself. Describe observable identifying features without inventing a geological story.

If you chose a 0.2515g sample order, use a photograph of the delivered piece. The listing’s images are for reference only and the supplied shape varies. The listed minimum weight belongs in the purchase specification, not under a photograph of an example as though it were a measurement of that example.

Include useful records, with private details removed

  • A copy of the item description as it appeared when ordered.
  • The product URL and purchase date.
  • An invoice or order reference, with personal payment and address details removed where appropriate.
  • Any item-specific supporting document actually supplied.
  • A note explaining where the original records are kept.

Decide separately whether to disclose the purchase price. It is a historical transaction figure, not a current valuation. If you keep the original invoice yourself, make sure the recipient knows how to obtain relevant order information when needed.

Use careful wording on the card

A practical card might read: “Collection reference GIFT-001. Product listing stated a minimum weight of 0.2515g. Supplied specimen photographed on [date]. Purchase description retained in [folder]. Additional evidence: [document name or not supplied].” Replace placeholders with real details.

For the 5.6g pictured nugget listing, record its stated weight and the actual supplied item’s photograph. Do not add an exact discovery site, purity certificate or story of a previous owner unless the information is supported by documents that accompany it. “Seller described as…” is useful when it clearly identifies the source of a statement.

Add a simple first-day checklist

Ask the recipient to check that the reference on the card matches the photographs and any documents. Keep the specimen contained when handling so it cannot easily roll or fall. Let them choose their own storage arrangement; avoid putting a detailed private storage location in a pack that may be shared publicly.

Leave a record the recipient can maintain

Include a blank line for later photographs, a move to another container or new supporting information. Our collection inventory template can become their continuing record. The photography guide explains how to make clear identity and scale views.

This pack is a practical record, not an assay, authentication certificate or promise of financial performance. Product descriptions checked 3 October 2026.
